摘要
Bioactive glass (BG) is a potential material for treating dentin hypersensitivity due to its high ability of dissolution. In this study, conventional BG and BG with well-ordered mesopore structures (MBG) were applied for dentinal tubule occlusion. We used X-ray diffractometer (XRD), scanning electronic microscope (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) to investigate the physiochemical properties and the dentinal tubule occlusion ability of BG and MBG groups. The results showed that the major crystallite phase of MBG and BG agents was monocalcium phosphate monohydrate. MBG pastes, mixed with 30 and 40 wt% phosphoric acid hardening solutions, had the ability to create a penetration depth greater than 50 mu m. These results showed that BG with mesoporous structures turned the pastes mixed with suitable phosphoric acid solution into a material with great ability for occluding dentinal tubules; it has a short reaction time and good operability, and these agents have better potential for the treatment of dentin hypersensitivity than BG without mesoporous structures.
