In this paper, a facile method was described to prepare multifunctional carbon nanotube/magnetite nanocomposites by the reaction of carboxyl-terminated carbon nanotubes and amine-functionalized magnetite nanoparticles with the aid of EDC (1-ethyl-3-[3-dimethylaminopropyl]carbodiimide hydrochloride). The as-prepared nanotube/magnetite nanocomposites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, and superconducting quantum interference device magnetometer. Furthermore, the microwave absorption properties of the carbon nanotube/magnetite nanocomposites were investigated with the maximum RL of -11 dB and the bandwidth lower than -10 dB is 7 GHz. The as-prepared nanotube/magnetite nanocomposites are expected to be promising candidates in microwave absorption materials.
