QQ(Q)over-bar (Q)over-bar states: Masses, production, and decays

摘要
The question of whether there exist bound states of two heavy quarks Q = (c,b) and antiquarks (Q) over bar = ((c) over bar ,(b) over bar), distinct from a pair of quark-antiquark mesons, has been debated for more than forty years. We estimate masses of Q(1)Q(2)(Q) over bar (3) (Q) over bar (4) resonant states X-Q1Q2 (Q) over bar3 (Q) over bar4 and suggest a means of producing and observing them. We concentrate on the cc (c) over bar(c) over bar channel which is most easily produced and the bb (b) over bar(b) over bar channel which has a better chance of being relatively narrow. We obtain M(X-cc (c) over bar(c) over bar) = 6,192 +/- 25 MeV and M(X-bb (b) over bar(b) over bar) = 18,826 +/- 25 MeV, for the J(PC) = 0(++) states involving charmed and bottom tetraquarks, respectively. An experimental search for these states in the predicted mass range is highly desirable.
