摘要
Self-assessment is an effective means to promote students' autonomous learning ability. A great headache for many Non-English majors is English writing. The traditional writing assessment is teacher's evaluation, which students have to accept passively. In order to confirm whether self-assessment has influence on College Students' English writing ability, the author of this paper trained some of her students for a whole semester. At the end of the experiment, compared with the students who have not accepted self-assessment training, the students who have accepted self-assessment have made significant progress in English writing. Therefore, self-assessment on writing matters to teaching.
