The Effect of Row Distance and Weed Management on Annual Ryegrass Seed Yield under Organic Conditions

In the small-plot field trial conducted in 2010 - 2012 under organic conditions, the effect of some growing technics on the weediness and seed yield of the annual ryegrass were observed. Main trial factors were sowing rate, row distance, organic fertilization and weed management. The best results (highest seed yield) were achieved in wide-rows crop which were fertilized by organic manure and treated by hoeing machine. Seed yields achieved in the best trial treatments are comparable to average seed yields of conventional Czech grass seed producers. Line hoeing shown also best results in weed control of organic annual ryegrass seed crop. Sowing rate does not show significant effect on seed yield.
