Research on Evaluation of Development of Ancient Towns Based on AHP

Major goals of ancient town development are to both protect them and fulfill their economic and social effects. Assisted by literature review, this paper regards ancient town protecting as a project combining resource protection and tourism development. In order to promote protection and development of ancient towns, it applies AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and Field Work to set the priorities (weights), by making a comprehensive evaluation model of development for ancient towns and setting up evaluation system. With the model, this article analyses and judges the level of ancient towns' development, which promotes protection and development of ancient towns.
