摘要：

Translation is not only a communication between two languages, but also a communication between two cultures. In translation, the cultures are reflected in the translational situation, i.e. the context. Getting a good understanding of the context is crucial to successful translation. In this article, context is decomposed into linguistic context and non-linguistic context. And the non-linguistic context, the social and cultural backgrounds, exerts great influence on lexical comprehension and semantic translation.
