摘要
Apoptosis is a fundamental cell process to balance the physiological states and define the responses to pathologies. In cancer treatment, apoptosis affects a patient's therapy efficacy in relation with how the tumor cells sense to the therapy regime. In this research, the effect of ultrasound stimulation at 0.4W/cm2 with 100Hz pulse repetition frequency and 20% duty cycle on the H2O2-induced apoptosis of HepG2 cells was investigated. The results illustrate that the apoptosis induced by H2O2 can be enhanced when HepG2 cells were exposed to ultrasound stimulation with these parameters. Nevertheless, the ultrasound stimulation itself didn't induce any apoptosis to the cells without H2O2. The underlying mechanisms are hypothesized that this stimulation may drive some HepG2 cells into cell cycle and increase their sensitivity to H2O2. It may suggest a new way for the application of ultrasound in radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
