摘要
A patient with an 11-mm retained intraretinal foreign body is described. Absence of any history of trauma or foreign body entry with no obvious wound of entry and little damage to the ocular structures makes this case unusual. [Ophthalmic Surg Lasers 1996;27:885-887.] Intraocular foreign bodies are few, but they can be a significant part of ocular trauma. The presence of an intraocular foreign body is often associated with a direct history of trauma causing acute symptoms requiring immediate attention. Old, retained intraocular foreign bodies are rarely encountered and those without patient awareness of any trauma are more rare.(1) A case of an intraocular foreign body retained for an unusually long period of time is discussed. There was minimal damage to ocular structures and the patient was not aware of any trauma.
