Quantum optics using defect modes in photonic band-gap structures

摘要
Modes in one dimensional photonic band gap structures with two defects are explicitly constructed, and shown to be localized around the defects. The nearby defects are then considered as forming micro-cavities which are coupled. The effect on collapse and revivals in the quantum dynamics of the two-level atoms in these single-mode cavities are discussed in detail.
