XRD microestructural analysis of limes obtained from GCC

摘要
The development of limes obtained by firing of a ground calcium carbonate (GCC) from Clariana (Tarragona), at constant maximum temperature (960 degreesC) and at different permanence times was studied. Reflections 111, 200, 220, 311, corresponding to structural planes of higher morphological appearance (and, as a result, of slower cristallite growing rate), are analized using a single line simplified XRD method. Values of cristallite size obtained by this way are significative different for the different studied directions, and range from 334 Angstrom to 3796 Angstrom. The order of cristallite growing rates is 111 < 100 < 110 < 311 which agrees the order of morphological prevalence, according to the Donay Harker's law.
