Phase formation in the Zr(SO4)2-RbF-H2O system

摘要
Phase formation in the Zr(SO4)(2)-RbF-H2O System was studied in a wide range of Zr(IV) concentrations (1-18 wt % ZrO2) at RbF/Zr molar ratios of 0.8-8. The fields of crystal phases Rb2ZrF6, Rb5Zr4F21.3H(2)O, Rb2Zr3OF12, Rb2ZrF4SO4, and Rb2ZrF2(SO4)(2).3H(2)O and amorphous phases Zr2O2F2SO4.H2O, RbZr2O2F(SO4)(2).5H(2)O and Rb0.1-0.4ZrO0.6-1.4F0.7-1.4(SO4)(0.3-0.9).nH(2)O were outlined. A phase of variable composition Rb0.1-0.4ZrO0.6-1.4(SO4)(0.3-0.9).nH(2)O and crystal phases Rb2Zr3OF12 and Rb2Zr2O2F(SO4)(2).5H(2)O were synthesized for the first time. The crystal phases were characterized by crystal-optical, X-ray diffraction, chemical, thermal, and IR spectroscopic analyses. Based on the structural similarity of Rb2Zr3OF12 and its potassium analog and analytical data, the formula K2Zr3OF12 was proposed for the potassium compound instead of the formula K3Zr4(OH)(3)F-16.2H(2)O Suggested earlier. ne adequacy of the new formula was confirmed by chemical analysis.
