Pseudo-Aneurysm of the Internal Maxillary Artery: A Case Report

This report describes radiologic features and management of a case of pseudo-aneurysm of the right internal maxillary artery and a brief review of the literature. We report the case of an 18-year-old man who presented with right-sided sudden, severe nasal bleeding. He had sustained craniofacial trauma five months before the onset the bleeding. This resulted in multiple facial bone fractures for which he had undergone open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF). The pseudo-aneurysm was diagnosed by conventional angiography of the common carotid arteries and was successfully occluded.
