摘要
The basic building block for Fe2-xMnxAs is a rhombohedral TT'As subcell where one of the metals, T-I, occupies a tetrahedral site and the other, T-II, a pyramidal site. The present neutron powder diffraction experiments performed at 523, 295, and 10 K have been undertaken to study the first-order ferrimagnetic-antiferromagnetic transition of Fe0.72Mn1.28As. The nuclear structure of Fe0.72Mn1.28As at 523, 295 and 10 K and the magnetic structure at 295 and 10 K have been studied by means of Rietveld refinements. These show that Fe atoms preferentially occupy site I (69%) and Mn atoms site II (97%). The magnetic moment of site II (3.17(5) mu(B) at 295 K) is larger than the moment of site I (1.01(2) mu(B) at 295 K). At 10 K we have observed the appearance of a magnetic moment in the c-direction.
