摘要
Vaccination in pregnancy achieves two goals: direct protection of pregnant women and indirect protection of the newborn by diaplacental antibody transfer. In Germany vaccination of pregnant women against influenza has been recommended since 2009. The implementation is however slow; therefore, we call on all doctors to advise pregnant women accordingly. Globally, extensive experience has been gained with tetanus vaccination in pregnancy and increasingly also with pertussis vaccination. Immunizing pregnant women against pertussis is currently not recommended in Germany. We support the introduction of arecommendation on pertussis vaccination for pregnant women from the 2nd trimester onwards in Germany.
