摘要
The nanoscale, which means the billionth part of the meter, brings an enchanting universe and with-it nanoscience capable of representing, at present, contributions at large scales in the most varied areas of human knowledge. Nanotechnology uses nanoscience to create or enhance functional materials, devices, and systems by controlling matter at the atomic and molecular scale. Among the various areas where nanotechnology is used, we can highlight nanoelectronics, bionanotechnology, nanonnedicine among others. Applications range from nanoencapsulated drug systems to the synthesis of biodegradable, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial materials. This article has as main objective to demonstrate how this contemporary technology is increasingly impacting the society in its diverse scopes.
