摘要：
Pedro de Valencia, an official West Indies chronicler, practically unknown till now, moved in the intellectual circles of the late Spanish humanism, leaving us his masterpiece, the Relaciones de Indias; in them we can notice the practical sense characteristic of this humanist, who was mainly educated by Benito Arias Montano.
