Effect of Ta on microstructure and magneto-optical properties of (Fe72Pt28)1-xTax (x=0.00-0.02) alloy films

摘要
The effects of Ta additive and heat treatment temperature on microstructure and magneto-optical properties of polycrystalline (Fe72Pt28)(1-x)Ta-x films are reported. The average grain size of the as-deposited film can be adjusted by the content of Ta addition. During heat treatment, Ta addition is detrimental to the formation of ordered FePt phase, The annealed FePtTax (x = 0.42 at%) film shows Kerr rotation angle of 0.44degrees and reflection coefficient of 0.6 in the optimal condition.
