摘要
Levitation melting is a suitable technique to avoid the contamination by crucible material. This paper presents a design and operation of a levitation melting system. The illustrative workpiece is a 7-g aluminum. A finite element software is used in the coil design. The levitation melting system is constructed with a 2 -kW resonant inverter to supply the necessary power. Simulation and experimental results have confirmed the validity of the levitation coil design and system operation.
