摘要：

3-D mesh refinement strategies are the object of interest in the present paper. The dependence of finite element solutions on various refinement procedures is discussed. A new refinement strategy, which is optimal with respect to the measure of degeneracy for all canonical domains is obtained. Comparisons with known refinement techniques are made.
