摘要
The report analyzes a survey conducted among Bulgarian pupils, who have one or two years to complete their secondary education. The study is undoubtedly relevant due to the ongoing transformation in the Bulgarian education system and the resulting tasks, which await their decision in the near and further future. The aim of the study is to analyze the main reasons why the candidate pupils are directed to a particular university or educational field in which they want to study - whether the family environment influences this choice, is proximity to or proximity to the place of birth relevant, the cost of learning is critical to choice, and what are the most preferred areas of learning. Also interesting are the data on the main sources of information that pupils use when applying for a higher education institution. A comparative analysis of the respondents who live in the capital is compared to those who live in other cities or in smaller settlements. Against the background of growing interest in ever more accessible education for Bulgarians in other European countries, one of the most important issues that are the subject of the study is whether young people prefer to continue their studies in Bulgaria or abroad. The test hypotheses are verified by a survey method. The questionnaire contains four sets of questions regarding awareness, motivation to choose a university and relevant majors. The impact of demographic indicators, such as: family environment, location, location of the university is taken into consideration. The survey was conducted between March and May 2018 on a sample of 180 people, of which 38.3% were men and 61.7% were women between 16 and 18 years of age. More than half of respondents are from the capital. Data is processed with the standard SPSS-21 statistical programs. Frequency distribution of data is performed. The results obtained show significant correlations between awareness and choice, as well as between motivation and choice. Confirmation of the influence of the degree of awareness on the nature of the choice and the satisfaction of it is confirmed. Analysis and evaluation of the survey results reveal trends in motivation orientation in universities and allows for their modification, approbation and development.
