摘要：

This paper presents a brief analysis of the main technical characteristics of means of direct observation and biological protection for this country's nuclear-power plants-radiation-proof windows. The main directions of improvement of the windows are considered-comprehensive modernization, optimization of the heterogeneous structure, planning by unitizing the designs, and creation of fundamentally new observation facilities based on digital electro-optic engineering. Examples are given of progressive technical solutions. (C) 2013 Optical Society of America.
