Utilizing data mining to analyze reader usage for library resources

摘要
Library is an important academic resource for school. Having a good library can be the symbol that makes schools proud of In recent years, more and more schools spend much money on adding e-journal, multimedia, and databases in order to make libraries have more abundance collection. However, there are some questions that librarian facing now. Are all recourses in library utterly used or are they just put on the shelf for watching and no one uses? It will be a pity if these questions are true. That will waste the worth of library. In this paper, we are going to utilize the data mining to analyze and discuss how readers use library resources. Data used in this article are from the databases from library in Nation Tai-Chung institute of Technology. According to the research result, the authors provide some suggestions to improve usage in library. Besides, librarian can know what readers need and give them practical service from the analysis in this paper. Library resource will be totally used and readers can find information they want.
