Interpretation of the EPR spectral parameters for coordination compounds

摘要
The necessity of the interpretation of the EPR parameters for the electron distribution in the antibonding and bonding states of the paramagnetic complex, is described. These data are needed for interpretation in those cases where the spectral parameters exhibit anomalous behavior related to the influence of either 'charge transfer' states (CTS) or spin polarization (SP). An alternative method suitable for direct interpretation of the magnetic resonance parameters without quantum chemical calculations has been proposed. This approach is based on the inverse problem of EPR spectroscopy. The use of covalency parameters may provide conclusions concerning the electronic structures of coordination compounds on the basis of EPR data.
