摘要
Modern Steckel mills are equipped with hydraulic roll gas screwdown and CVC work roll shifting systems as well as with temperature-controlled coiling furnaces. Very different capacities are possible for such rolling mills. The facility at Salem Steel produces around 100 000 tia, with an expansion to 200 000 t/a being planned; the rolling mill at Avesta Steel is designed for 250 000 t/a and produces just under 600 000 t/a; and the rolling mill at Yieh United has a design capacity of 600 000 t/a. Depending on the design, hot strip and plate are rolled from stainless steels and carbon steels on these mills. Minimills for special steel flat products can combine a CSP thin slab easter with a Steckel rolling mill and thereby produce hot strip particularly flexibly and cost-efficiently.
