摘要
The aim of this research work is to show the application of rule based fuzzy failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) approach on milling plant of a sugar mill The conventional FMEA approach has been used for prioritizing critical components based on risk priority number (RPN). To remove disadvantages of conventional FMEA, 'if- then' rules have been formed in fuzzy inference system (FIS) and fuzzy RPN has been calculated and prioritized. The scores of RPN and fuzzy RPN (FRPN) are compared to improve risk prioritization. For implementing proper maintenance strategy results have been forwarded to plant maintenance engineer.
