摘要
Analysis and design of a new metamaterial structure is presented which is composed of electrically small resonators and functions as a perfect absorber. It is used to harvest microwave energy. The proposed structure is realized by a T-type resonator embedded in a rectangular split ring resonator and backed by a metal ground. The structure resonates at 6.368 GHz and 7.5GHz and behaves like a perfect absorber. This distinctive characteristic is exploited to harvest energy by diverting the current through a via to a resistive load at these frequencies. The structure efficiently delivers incident power to the load with the conversion efficiency 69.29% and its harvesting efficiency is 48.16%.
