Preparation of microarc oxidation layer containing hydroxyapatite crystals on Ti6Al4V by hydrothermal synthesis was discussed. It was found that the microarc oxidation layer on Ti6Al4V containing Ca and P can be converted into oxidation layer by hydrothermal synthesis. Results showed that the bioactive oxidation layer had high bond strength with biologically favorable roughness and porosity.
