摘要
The importance of type of pollination (self or cross), and its possible influence on fruit characters of two self-compatible almond cultivars 'Francoli' and 'Guara' growing in commercial orchards, was observed during two years (2006 and 2007). Nearly 800 fruits from 'Francoli' and 600 from 'Guara' were collected and characterized by their weight, length, width, and thickness then germinated. Molecular markers (isozymes and SSRs) were applied to the seedlings in order to determine the pollen source of each almond. Self-pollination was high in both cultivars: 86.6% self-pollination in 'Francoli' and 69.3% in 'Guara' while cross-pollination was low at 13.4% in 'Francoli' and 30.7% in 'Guara'. So far, the results for both cultivars show that the type of pollination does not affect the nut characteristics studied.
