摘要
A range of vertical distribution and vertical preferenda of earthworms from the central part of the North Caucasus were studied. Soil earthworms proper predominated among Lumbricidae with the greatest range of vertical distribution. Soil and litter inhabitants occurred at an elevation of higher than 2000 m a.s.l.; surface inhabitants were rarely spread. The character of habitat stations in litter earthworms was different - they were found in the tussock of hygrophyte meadows at the upper boundary of the range. The species of the Caucasian origin (Dendrobaena schmidti and D. tellermanica) occurred in the higher located areas than the others did within the territory under study and demonstrated the greatest range of vertical distribution.
