摘要
In Europe, MOX fuel for Light Water Reactors (LWRs) has first been manufactured in Germany and Belgium. BELGONUCLEAIRE (BN) loaded the first MOX assembly in the BR3 Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR) in 1963. In October 1997, about 700 tHM LWR MOX fuel assemblies were manufactured on an industrial scale in Europe without any particular difficulty relating to fuel fabrication, reactor operation or fuel behaviour. However, this favourable situation has not suppressed the R&D efforts made on MOX fuel to determine its particularities and to create adequate high burnup data bases for design and licensing.
