摘要
Sucrose-amended, yeast extract-amended, and lactate-amended systems were observed to be effective for microbial Cr(VI) reduction in an organic-carbon-poor subsurface environment. Approximately 10 mg/l of Cr(VI) was completely reduced in these systems during a 17-day experiment. In an additional experiment, nitrate, Cr(VI), and sulfate reduction were observed to depend on supplies of the electron donor (lactate). A reduction sequence of nitrate, Cr(VI), and sulfate was observed in the system. The reduction rate of the respiked Cr(VI) in the system was estimated to be 0.2203 h(-1).
