摘要
The ferroelastic phase transition in LiCsSO4 crystal is vividly shown by the change of slowness surfaces between 293K and 202K. The soft mode theory is used to investigate the phase transition. The pure shear mode which is corresponding to the elastic constant c(66) starts softening at 206K and softens completely at 202K. According to the elastic constitutive relations and the Curie principle, LiCsSO4 crystal is in the same symmetry between 202K and 206K. There isn't an intermediate phase during the phase transition.
