In agrochemicals, surfactants are used as auxiliaries for the formulation and also application of pesticides. Their main interest is related to their emulsifying, dispersing and wetting properties. A review of the various commercial presentations of agrochemical formulations is given, with comments on their advantages and disavantages for the end-user, and also some indication of the role of surfactants in these formulations. The pressure of economic, legal, and environmental aspects is emphasized through various technical and market data, pointing out the trends in agrochemical formulations.
