Three-dimensional finite element simulation of laser welded stainless steel plate

摘要：
A three-dimensional model was used to simulate laser welding of two stainless steel plates. The heat input was simulated as a moving heat source. Elements where activated along the welding path in order to account for the joining of the material. Large deformations, temperature dependent material properties, volume changes due to phase changes are included in the model. Experiments have been performed in order to evaluate the accuracy of the model.
