Macroscopic characterisation: The adsorption/desorption equilibrium of trioctylphosphine oxide ligands at colloidal InP nanocrystals (see picture) is investigated with quantitative, one-dimensional 1H NMR spectroscopy. Thermodynamic analysis of the isotherm demonstrates that formation of the capping is driven by favorable adsorbate-substrate interactions and is strengthened by adsorbate-adsorbate interactions. © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
