摘要：

This paper presents a working model of pilot-controller workload. The model takes into account a variety of factors which shape workload in both domains. The model has formed the basis for discussing workload consequences when considering the introduction of new technologies onto the flight deck or into the air traffic control room. The interface between the pilot and controller is critical for the safe passage of aircraft and this model places this interface at the centre of this complex system.
