摘要
Conventional DFB laser diodes present symmetric emission patterns, thus making these structures inadequate as single-mode lasers. The simplest ways of achieving single longitudinal-mode operation is to make one or more facets as cleaved, rather than using AR coating. Single-mode yield in asymmetric structures is calculated using matrix techniques. (C) 2005 Wiley Periodicals. Inc.
