摘要
Transgenic Sugar beet with tolerance to non-selective herbicides has been grown on I limited area in the USA. Evaluating the potential of the HT Sugar beet for European conditions, we clearly obtain significant cost savings compared with conventional varieties. This is caused mainly due to simplification of complicated and cost expensive herbicide program commonly used in conventional sugar beet. The savings in the Czech conditions rank between 2 000 and 4 000 CZK per hectare, including the increased price of transgenic seed.
