(Figure Presented) Highly chiral liquid crystals: Blue phases (see picture), which are stable in the temperature range: 40-50 C, are highlighted in this contribution. These liquid-crystal mesophases show a great potential for exciting electro-optical applications. © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
