摘要
In order to reduce the distracting background noise and to provide a pleasant listening environment while using portable audio and communication devices, headphones are usually equipped with active noise-cancelling technology. The active noise reducing headphone uses the technology of cancelling sound with sound. The active noise cancelling(ANC) headphones does the reduction of low frequency noise and isolation of high frequency noise by earmuffs. The commercial ANC headphone uses high speed digital signal processors to remove the annoying noises, resulting in higher power dissipation. To cancel the noise ANC headphones uses the adaptive digital filter. The adaptive filter updates its coefficients iteratively to track the best possible solutions. Here a pipelined feedforward ANC architecture based on the filtered-x least mean square (FxLMS) adaptive algorithm is implemented on FPGA using HDL programming together with the aid of MATLAB simulations.
