Free tissue transfer for foot preservation in cases of severe arterial disease

摘要：
The development of new techniques and instruments in recent years has led to a new field of different therapy options in patients with arterial disease. We report a case of a patient suffering from severe arterial disease from a large ulceration of the distal foot. After revascularization by drug-eluting balloon angioplasty of the anterior tibial artery a free flap reconstruction was performed. We believe that in certain cases the possibility of lower limb preservation justifies the risks of this challenging procedure.
