Electrocatalytic behaviour of chalcone substituted Co, Cu, Mn and Ni phthalocyanines towards the detection of nitrite

摘要
New metal phthalocyanines (MPcs) containing Cu, Mn and Ni as central metals (represented as CuPc, MnPc and NiPc) and tetrasubstituted with chalcone are synthesised herein. Together with the reported CoPc derivative, the MPcs were used to modify glassy carbon electrodes using the adsorption method and employed as electro-catalysts in the detection of nitrite in a pH 7 phosphate-buffered saline. The detection limits ranged between 0.18 mu M and 1.77 mu M. Sensitivity rates as high as 58.8 mu A/mM were obtained. The CoPc displayed the best elec-trocatalytic activity for nitrite detection. NiPc performed the worst.
