Overview of the Global e-Learning Systems Market

Lately the development of information and communication technologies has led to the creation of a new type of economy, called information economy, based on the introduction of the latest advances in computer technology. The innovative economy expansion requires new advanced approaches in all areas of development, including engineering and economic education. In the last few years, the evolution of computer networks and the Internet has reformatted educational processes, moving from traditional forms of education to distance ones through electronic learning systems. The article deals with the concept of electronic distance education. The analysis of the existing systems of electronic learning on the main characteristics, including support for application languages, database management systems, and the availability of examination systems is carried out. New forms of distance education, in the form of massive open online courses (MOOC), which have spread over the past few years, are considered. The research of the platforms supporting MOOC courses is conducted. The assessment of prospects for the e-learning development, based on the analysis of financial parameters, the number of online course participants, distribution capabilities.
