Was Moliere's and his Company's interpretation of comedy natural or excessive? The role of body-language in the dramatic understanding of Moliere's plays

Moliere's dramatic writing is based on the rhetorics of unlikelihood as a revelation of man's ridiculous wandering, though it is rather weak from a stylistic or moral point of view. As a director, Moliere uses the Italian way of acting, which was apparently as little realistic and natural as his language. However, his art as an actor was used to show the audience that the comic character, criticized and exaggerated as he was in spite of good manners, is only man as a comic being always able to consider his own unlikely behavior with a touch of irony. By valuing mimetic distance as a means of comic intelligence, Moliere, using the new rhetorics of his time, succeeded in justifying the true topic of his play and its artistic value.
