摘要
The article analyzes the essence and origins of reflection. Reflection is looked upon the human thinking that is directed towards deeper comprehension of one's activities, the evaluation and understanding of one's pedagogical experience. The author of the article has summarized the ideas on the essence of reflection expressed by different authors in a chronological sequence in a comparative table. The term special education teacher- is used in the article; in this case it means the teacher who organizes the teaching/learning process and works with pupils who have mental developmental disturbances. The theoretical ideas by G. Lefransua looking at them from the point of view of special education have been used to describe the aspects of the reflective activity of the special education teacher. The practical study analyzes the answers given by special education teachers in the form of the selfevaluation to the question whether their pedagogical activity is reflective. 72 per cent of respondents consider that it is.
