摘要
The ARES Esch-Schifflange plant operates a twin shell shaft electric arc furnace, with a 110-ton capacity for a 98-ton tapping tonnage. It has a 70 MW (990V - 65 kA) transformer and 6 burners of 3 MW each. The melting and refining phases are monitored through a three modules model developed at Schifflange in collaboration with CRM. The first module for initial melting is static; the second one is semi-dynamic and concerns the last minutes of the practice and the third one is used for final adjustments. Figure I locates the different modules in the melting practice.
