Evaluation of the essential oil of Cymbopogon citratus (DC.) Stapf leaves after drying process

摘要：
The Cymbopogon citratus species is used in several countries in the pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic and perfumery industries. This research was conducted in order to get more specific knowledges about the leaves drying observing the changes in yield and chemical composition of essential oil. Results showed that the size of cut sheets in 2 cm and air drying at temperature of 45 and 50 degrees C increased the essential oil content. During the essential oil storage for composition analysis, were observed significant changes in composition that were not expected, the analysis of decomposition observed are described here.
