摘要
In this paper, a compact, high-gain and high-efficiency 8x2 elements microstrip patch antenna array has been designed, fabricated, and characterized. The proposed array configuration was optimized to operate at 60 GHz frequency band, using as a material, a thin ceramic substrate (epsilon(r) = 9.9 and h = 127 mu m) and, as a technique, the inset-feed based on quarter-wave impedance matching method. Design simulation has been performed by using Advanced Design System Software ( ADS) from Keysight Technologies. The proposed array structure exhibits excellent performances in terms of gain (16.8 dB), directivity (17.9 dB), and radiation efficiency (77.43%). It therefore meets perfectly the requirement for short-range indoor wireless applications, and it can be a suitable candidate for the millimeter wave RF front-end integrated circuits.
