摘要
It is no longer news, that knowledge is now at centre stage, and that it is the only thing that offers sustainable competitive advantage to organisations that manage it well. The importance of knowledge management has been on the centre of discussion in most conferences and fora where business managers gather. However little has been discussed about how to successfully implement this new paradigm. The paper will evaluate what common interest networks are and how an organisation either a fortune 1000 multinational or a local SME can leverage on these common interest networks to capture, store and transfer knowledge within it, using IT as an enabler. The paper will evaluate this topic in relation to the interaction between people, culture and technology. The paper will thereafter conclude with role played by IT in building and sustaining these common interest networks.
